Ethereum’s expansion project Optimism plans to soft launch the mainnet on January 15

According to official news, the Ethereum Optimistic Rollup expansion project Optimism team stated in its annual summary report that Optimism had frozen the code two weeks ago to prepare for the trial operation of Synthetix’s mainnet, and it is expected to be available on January 15th. The network was soft-launched and the community version was released on March 15. Optimism stated that despite extensive testing, errors are expected, so the upgrade key will be retained for at least 6 months to ensure the safety of user funds.

U.S. congressman asks to extend the comment period for new crypto wallet regulations to 60 days

According to reports, eight members of Congress have written to US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, requesting that the comment period for the proposed new crypto wallet regulations be extended to the traditional 60 days. If the rule is implemented, the letter also invites the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) to consider extending the implementation of the rule for six months so that stakeholders can find a solution. It is reported that the current comment period for this rule is only 15 days.
